Meet the Herd

Welcome to the farm

Meet the herd.
Yes, the goats are real.

When Goats Fly is a handmade business living right in the middle of a real North Carolina farm. The goats provide milk, inspiration and an impressive amount of unscheduled chaos. The humans make the products.

Actual farm. Actual goats. Questionable supervision.

The story behind the name

The farm isn’t a theme.
It’s where this business lives.

When Goats Fly grew into a handmade business connected to the animals, materials and everyday life around us. We make in small batches, sell online and at markets, and try to keep everything personal enough that it still feels like it came from a real person rather than a warehouse.

Our goats aren’t mascots added after the fact. They’re part of the actual place where our products are made. Goat milk from our herd goes into our goat milk soap, while the animals themselves have inspired names, designs, stories, market displays and eventually an entire game about goat chaos.

Around here, farm life and business life are mostly the same life — just with different buckets.

The herd

Milk. Inspiration.
Complete nonsense.

Caring for the goats is part of everyday life here. We feed them, milk them, check fences, manage the herd and routinely discover that they have developed plans of their own.

Some contribute milk. Every single one contributes personality.

We make the soap. The goats remain heavily involved in upper management.

Myst & Storm

Myst and Storm are our Great Pyrenees livestock guardian dogs. Their job is not decorative — they help protect the herd and are an important part of the working side of the farm.

Livestock guardians live and work around the animals they protect, watching their surroundings and helping keep the farm crew safe.

LIVE FROM THE FARM

Yes, this part changes by itself. The goats have not yet been granted posting privileges.

You survived the introductions.

Now you can see what we’re making, find us at a market or go play a game created because apparently having actual goats wasn’t chaotic enough.
